Signing of Addendum to the Concession Agreement between the Port Authority Office Class I Balikpapan and PT Indika Logistic & Support Services
Jakarta, August 30, 2024 — On Friday, August 30, 2024, the signing of an Addendum to the Concession Agreement between the Port Authority Office Class I Balikpapan, Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, and Port Services Company PT Indika Logistic & Support Services (ILSS) was held. This agreement concerns the provision and/or port services at Indika Logistic & Support Services Terminal in Balikpapan Port.
The event, held in the Sriwijaya Meeting Room, Karsa Building, 4th Floor, Ministry of Transportation, Jakarta, was attended by the Director General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Capt. Antoni Arif Priadi, M.Sc., who delivered a speech at the event.
The Addendum to the Concession Agreement specifically includes an extension of the concession period from the original 31 years to 54 years. This change is expected to strengthen the long-term collaboration between both parties in an effort to enhance efficiency and port services at Balikpapan Port, one of Indonesia’s strategic ports.
The addendum was signed by the President Director of PT ILSS, Mr. Adi Darma Shima, and the Head of the Port Authority Office (KSOP) Class I Balikpapan, Capt. Bharto Ari Raharjo, MSi. This agreement was the follow up action from initial agreement was previously signed on March 27, 2023.
In his remarks, Dr. Capt. Antoni Arif Priadi, M.Sc., stated that the extension of the concession period is an important step to provide investment certainty and support the development and modernization of better port infrastructure. “We hope that with this extension, PT ILSS can continue to provide the best services and contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of national ports without compromise the market competition” said Dr. Capt. Antoni Arif Priadi.
The signing of this addendum marks the commitment of both parties to continue collaborating in providing optimal port services and supporting economic growth through efficient and professional port management.
