Cotrans Asia Mangrove Program (CAMP) 2025

The event titled Cotrans Asia Mangrove Program (CAMP) is a sustainability program aimed at restoring ecosystems in coastal areas affected by land conversion while protecting the area from further damage. The program involves planting approximately 34,000 mangrove seedlings across 10 hectares of land, with an annual success rate target of 75%. The program will be implemented in stages, with 7,000 seedlings planted in 2025, 10,000 seedlings in 2026, 10,000 seedlings in 2027, and 7,000 seedlings in 2028. Symbolically, Mr. Surya Aribowo, President Director of PT Cotrans Asia (CTA), handed over the seedlings to Mr. Bambang Hari Trimarsito, S.Si., M.P., Head of the Balikpapan Region III Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA), and Mr. Kurniansyah, Head of Muara Adang Village.

On this occasion, the President Director of CTA stated that this program has been implemented since 2023, where 2,500 seedlings were planted in Harapan Baru Village and continued with 10,860 seedlings in 2024 in Muara Adang Village. The company also fully supports the environmentally friendly pond program that will begin in Muara Adang Village in 2025. This initiative represents the company's tangible contribution to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Head of Section III of the Balikpapan Natural Resources Conservation Agency, together with Mr. Achmad Safari, SP, M.Si, Head of the Paser Regency Environment Agency, expressed their appreciation to the company for its consistent commitment to ecosystem conservation. Representing the Mining Technical Head of PT Kideco Jaya Agung (KJA), Mr. Nugraha Wikuyanto also expressed his hopes and support for the continuation of this program so that it can make a real contribution to the surrounding area.

This program was welcomed with gratitude from the Head of Muara Adang Village for the company's genuine attention to the area, most of which is a nature reserve, by always involving the surrounding community in the initiated program so that the community and the company remain hand in hand, “earning a living while also protecting the environment”. The speech was closed by the President Director of PT Interport Mandiri Utama (Interport), Mr. Adi Darma Shima. Interport is the parent company of CTA. In front of approximately 111 invited guests, the President Director of Interport stated that Interport has four pillars of sustainability initiatives, including environmental sustainability, improving the quality of education, concern for health, and community empowerment in socio-economic aspects. “Interport appreciates the President Director of CTA and his team for their consistent commitment to the program and their ability to achieve harmony between the company and the community. Through cooperation with BKSDA, it is hoped that the consistency of this program will produce proud results in preserving the environment and set an example for the wider community,” he concluded.
