Strengthening Strategic Collaboration: Portek International Visits Interport Business Park Kariangau 

Balikpapan, 21 April 2025 - Interport Business Park (IBP) Kariangau received a visit from the delegation of Portek International Pte Ltd (“Portek”). The Portek delegation, consisting of Ms. Fiona Koe Peck Hoon, Head of Strategic Planning, and Mr. Kotaro Hasegawa, Chief Operation & Development Officer, was welcomed by Interport’s directors, Mr. Adi Darma Shima, President Director, and Mr. David Edward Adams, Director of PT Interport Mandiri Utama (“Interport”). 

Portek is a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd, based in Singapore, and currently operates in eight countries. Portek's business focuses on port engineering, port management, and port information technology. 

Earlier last year, on January 31, 2024, Portek and Interport signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to identify expansion opportunities and broaden the business scope of both companies in Indonesia. Under this agreement, the two companies collaborate on various initiatives to develop the capacity and capabilities of both Public Ports and Special Ports across Indonesia. 

During this visit, the Portek delegation toured the IBP area and facilities, including the Control Room and Jetty, and observed IBP's operations, which are supported by advanced technology and a professional team committed to maintaining high occupational safety standards. 
Both parties expressed their appreciation and hope for a continued strategic partnership within the region.
