Inauguration of the Interport Fuel Terminal
“A Match Made in Heaven”
The Interport Fuel Terminal is another concrete step for the Indika Energy Group in strengthening business diversification.
On December 12, Indika Energy and ExxonMobil inaugurated the Interport Fuel Terminal in Kariangau, East Kalimantan. The inauguration ceremony was conducted in online and offline formats. Some of the participants were in Jakarta, some were at the project site in Kariangau (Balikpapan), while several other participants followed virtually.
Present at Graha Mitra, Jakarta, include Arsjad Rasjid, President Director of Indika Energy; Azis Armand, Deputy President Director and CEO of Indika Energy; Widjaja Sumarjadi, CEO of Interport; Kamal Singh, Fuels Director of ExxonMobil Indonesia. Health protocols are strictly enforced during the event, including maintaining distance and wearing masks.
The inauguration of this collaborative project carried out by Indika Energy, Interport and Tripatra is undoubtedly a historic day for the Indika Energy Group family. This historical incision is increasingly important because the project, which occupies 40 hectares, can be completed amidst the challenging conditions caused by the pandemic. "I appreciate all those who contributed to this project. Cooperation with full professionalism, accompanied by high passion, has become a manifestation of agility, " said Widjaja.
Meanwhile, Azis Armand in his speech appreciated the commitment and cooperation carried out by the Indika Energy Group (Indika Energy, Interport, Tripatra). This fuel terminal's inauguration is a good milestone for the company, including the aspect of the diversification strategy that is being carried out.

ExxonMobil also gave similar appreciation. Kamal Singh explained, even though in 2020 there were several projects halted, Indika Energy, Tripatra and Interport never gave up and continued to move forward to complete the project. "I have been involved in many partnerships in various countries. However, this partnership is a legacy that I will be proud of. This partnership is like a match made in heaven," said Kamal.
The inauguration program became even more impressive when Arsjad Rasjid spoke directly with the Interport team in Balikpapan. When Arsjad asked about the latest news on the project, Arifin, as Head of Logistics of Supply Base Business, explained that employee in the field continues to maintain the fire of enthusiasm while being proactive in maintaining health protocols. Arifin also explained that currently, around 68 million litres of fuel have successfully passed the lifting process. "Hopefully that everything will run smoothly in the future," said Arifin.
