Four Years of Restoring Coastal Ecosystems Through CAMP 2026

Paser, 20 July 2026 – PT Cotrans Asia, as a subsidiary of PT Interport Mandiri Utama has once again launched the Cotrans Asia Mangrove Program (CAMP) 2026. Coinciding with World Environment Day on June 5th and the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem on July 26th , the program aims to restore the ecological functions of mangrove forests affected by human activities while improving the well-being of coastal communities. while improving the well-being of coastal communities. Entering its fourth year, CAMP 2026 is marked by the planting of 7,000 mangrove seedlings in Muara Adang Village, Long Ikis District, Paser Regency. in Muara Adang Village, Long Ikis District, Paser Regency.

Since its inception in 2023, CAMP has consistently served as PT Cotrans Asia's flagship coastal rehabilitation initiative. The program began with the planting of 2,500 mangrove seedlings in Harapan Baru Village, achieving a seedling survival rate of 77.8%, exceeding the initial target. In 2024, the initiative expanded to Muara Adang Village, where 10,860 seedlings were planted. Even though it was briefly faced with geographical challenges, which resulted in the success rate of seedlings growing being only 9.36%. However, this doesn't slow down management's stride.

Through comprehensive evaluation and enhanced planting and maintenance methods, the 2025 implementation recorded a significant improvement, with 7,000 mangrove seedlings achieving a 95.90% survival rate. These achievements have laid a strong foundation for PT Cotrans Asia to further strengthen its contribution to coastal ecosystem conservation through an adaptive, collaborative, and sustainable approach.

President Director of PT Cotrans Asia, Surya Aribowo, stated that CAMP has become one of the Company's strategic initiatives to integrate business operations with environmental sustainability. He emphasized that the program's success is driven by close collaboration among local governments, surrounding communities, and business partners, creating a shared commitment to protecting and restoring coastal ecosystems.
